Manuscript Evaluation
(also referred to as an editorial letter or alpha reading)

What Is A Manuscript Evaluation?
An evaluation of your manuscript looks at the chapter-by-chapter integrity of your work. It's a detailed letter of evaluation through the lens of genre, tone, plot structure, character development, setting, and POV.

How Does A Manuscript Evaluation Differ From A Developmental Edit?
While the scope of feedback for a manuscript evaluation and a developmental edit is similar, the delivery method is different.
A manuscript evaluation focuses solely on chapter-by-chapter feedback and is delivered as a separate document from your manuscript (a letter so to speak). Though I thoroughly read your manuscript, I do not provide in-document commenting, queries, or revisions. You’ll see no mark-up from me in your document.
A manuscript evaluation can be cost effective if you’re in need of professional feedback but aren’t ready to commit to a full developmental edit.

When Should You Book A Manuscript Evaluation?
Typically once you are satisfied with your first to final draft and before copy editing.
